roadwork-1200

The Pinal CountyPublic Works Department has announced an extension in the construction schedule for chip seal work on Schnepf Road, south of Hashknife Draw. Initially, the maintenance work was set to be completed before the long weekend, but now, it is scheduled to extend through Friday, June 30, and resume on Tuesday, July 5.

Lane Restrictions in Place
Motorists are advised to be prepared for lane restrictions on Schnepf Road during the construction period. The roadwork will be conducted on June 29 and July 5 from 6:00 am to 4:00 pm each day. To ensure the safety of both the construction crew and motorists, flagger operations will be in effect to guide traffic through the work zone.

Caution Urged
The Public Works Department is urging drivers to exercise caution while traveling through the area. They have requested motorists to reduce speed and be vigilant for both construction workers and equipment. The safety of the construction crew and fellow commuters is of utmost importance, and cooperation from the public is crucial in ensuring a safe and efficient work environment.

Potential Delays
Due to the lane restrictions and flagging operations, drivers should anticipate delays and are advised to allocate additional time for their commutes, especially during peak hours. If possible, commuters are encouraged to seek alternate routes to bypass the construction zone.

Work Details
The maintenance work includes chip sealing, which is a pavement surface treatment that combines one or more layers of asphalt with one or more layers of fine aggregate. This process is used to maintain and prolong the lifespan of the roadway. Chip sealing helps to protect the road from water penetration, improves skid resistance, and restores the aesthetic appeal of the road.

Seeking Community Cooperation
Pinal County Public Works Department appreciates the community's patience and understanding as they work to improve the roads. They remind drivers of the importance of slowing down in work zones and adhering to traffic control directions. The safety and efficiency of the roadwork rely on the cooperation of all drivers.
